  1. Done, thanks for the updates guys :)
  2. Xbox 360 owns so hard. I only play COD 4 though since WaW is rubbish ;)
  3. Pure Warfare is in need of a slogan, something short, something memorable and catchy. So far I've come up with: Venimus Vidimus Vicimus Which means We came, We saw, We conquered. If you have any ideas post them here and we'll have a vote on them another day.
  4. Karl

    Nah

Good job, ranged is easy :P
  5. The other skins have been disabled for now. I may re-add them later :)
  6. I'm kind of happy with it, worlds where you don't keep anything, and worlds where you keep one item. Just for those rich people with claws and AGS.
  7. Well Benjamin, the funny thing is. Around 20 worlds were offline all day yesterday.
  8. 17th July 2009 - Bounty Worlds (+1 Item) With the recent disabling of Protect Item prayers on PvP Worlds, a lot of players feel that we had rendered their high-value weapons (godswords and dragon claws, in particular) worthless. While no changes had been made to the weapons themselves, the amount of wealth you had to risk in order to use those weapons was considered prohibitively high. We obviously don’t want you to feel like your investment is wasted; we appreciate how much work some of you have put into getting those items! But, we also don’t want to undo changes that we feel are good for PKing as whole. So, we’ve come up with a way of hopefully achieving both goals. Today we are introducing a new type of Bounty World. These ‘+1 item’ worlds still won’t allow you to use the Protect Item prayer, but, instead, everyone will always keep their most valuable item protected. On these worlds, to gain drop potential you (as usual) have to be risking 75k (or 25k on a free world). Because you always keep your most valuable item on these worlds, this means you have to risk 75k of items in ADDITION to your always-protected item. This has the following advantages: a) It still achieves our original intentions of making it harder to gain drop potential and participate in rewarding combat without actually really risking something; B) It stops high-value weapons being made worthless and still maintains that type of gameplay for people who enjoy it; c) Conversely, people who feel the new, more powerful weapons unbalanced PKing, without any risk to the wielder, have a different type of world that they can enjoy too. NOTE - Our ISP issues have meant that world 32, the planned +1 item Bounty World for free players, is not currently available. We sincerely apologise and hope to get this world back online as soon as possible.
  9. Knowing that many of RuneScape's adventurers sometimes like to kick back and enjoy time with their friends and clan-mates, Al Kharid's newest resident, the mysterious entrepreneur Faruq, has brought to market a selection of curiosities to help pass the time between grand escapades. If your clan needs fair ways of making decisions, then Faruq has something for you. If you want to have a race without any cheating or need something to mark the route, he can help. Whether you’re planning a scavenger hunt, a race, a seeking game or any kind of adventure within the adventure, Faruq asks only that you look at his wares, because he might have just what you need. To peruse Faruq’s Tools for Games, check out the stall he has set up next to Ali Morrisane in Al Kharid market. This is an unusual update for us, because, unlike just about everything else in RuneScape, we haven’t planned out what you should do with it. During development, we thought of things you could do, of course, but I’m eager to see what else you can come up with yourselves. To make the tools, we sought suggestions from the forums, fan sites and various corners of Jagex. It all helped shape the project, and some of the players who made suggestions when the developer blog went out should find certain objects very familiar: congratulations on making your mark on the game! In other news... You can once again walk out of Edgeville’s bank using the minimap when heading north-east! We’ve removed a small selection of items from the Grand Exchange to improve offer matching. For example, all but the fully charged and lowest charged versions of enchanted rings have been removed. The removed items can still be traded; they just no longer show up on the Grand Exchange.
  10. 15th July 2009 - PvP World Changes Players who enter a PvP or Bounty World will now automatically become skulled and unable to use the Protect Item prayer. The skull will not disappear over time or when a player dies, unless they go to a non-PvP world, in which case the skull behaves like normal. Note that this means you will always lose everything you are carrying if you get killed by another player, and that there is no way for you to keep any items on death while in a PvP or Bounty World. Additionally, on members’ worlds, your victims must now lose at least 75,000 coins’ worth of items (increased from 25,000) for your earning potential to be applied to the drop. On free-to-play worlds, the amount the victim must lose remains at 25,000 coins. Please note that you will have to be in a safe area before you can next log into a PvP or Bounty World. You will need to log into a non-PvP/Bounty World in order to move to a safe area. This is to ensure nobody logs in risking more than they are aware of. A message will explain this on login if you try to enter these worlds. This only applies to your next PvP/Bounty World login; from then on, you will be able to log in as normal.
  11. 10th July 2009 - The Jagex Anti-Hijack System While Jagex is a clear industry leader in making our games and infrastructure secure, some of our players’ personal computers have proved vulnerable to account hijacking in the form of viruses, key loggers, phishing websites or players simply revealing their Jagex password. Given these challenges, we are determined that your account remains secure at all times, even if your personal computer has been compromised or somebody else knows your password. We think we have found a solution to these problems: the Jagex security key. This key looks a bit like a USB dongle, which you will be able to put on your key ring or store in a secure location. The key will reveal a six to eight-digit code that changes every few seconds and is completely unique to you. Type this code into a Jagex login page and you will be able to guarantee that you are secure from any hijacking attempt. For the techies out there, the key is an ‘Enterprise two-factor authentication solution’. We’re really enthusiastic about its potential to stop hijackers and phishing sites in their tracks, but since this will require significant investment and resources, we aren’t going to make any final decisions without talking to you first. We would like you to head over to the poll system, on the left-hand side of the RuneScape front page, and answer two questions: would you be interested in buying one of these security keys, and what is the most you would be willing to pay? With the Jagex security key, we would be so confident that your account is secure that we could consider adding expanded bank space to those accounts that are protected by the Jagex security key. NOTES – it would not be compulsory to buy the security key. It would be an optional means for you to keep your account genuinely secure. The Jagex security key would be available to all countries for a single one-off price. The security key would be available to both free players and members. While we are enthusiastic about the Jagex security key, there are still a number of variables that could determine whether we can roll this out, ranging from technical challenges and, naturally, players' interest in the device. Please give us your feedback in the Jagex Store Feedback forum.
  12. 8th July 2009 - Mobilising Armies Mobilising Armies is a new multiplayer combat minigame, but instead of controlling your avatar you’ll be controlling a whole battalion, deploying your squads with tactical precision and trying to second-guess the intentions of your opponents. There are four different scenarios to play in: Conflict, Siege, Hoard and Rescue. Each presents its own set of challenges, such as building catapults, collecting resources and stealing from your opponents, to name just a few. Don’t worry about finding three other players, though: when you turn up at the command centre the officers will arrange your match for you. As we all know, war isn’t cheap, so with Mobilising Armies we are introducing a commodity-exchange system. If, after training a skill, you’re left with a lot of commodities that you don’t need yourself (e.g. a surplus of jewellery after training Crafting), you’ll be able to trade them in at the command centre for investment credits, which can then be exchanged for squads and special units, such as cannons, barricades or exploding chinchompas. You can also choose to stake investment credits in an impending battle for a larger payout of reward credits, which can in turn be spent on additional items. There are a variety of rewards for victorious commanders, including quest kits that let you hold much-needed questing tools in one inventory slot, resource locators that’ll teleport you directly to resources such as mining spots and trees, and “spoils of war”, which are a selection of resources, gold and items that will allow you to train your skills further Good luck, and enjoy! Summary: Mobilising Armies can be found south of the Feldip Hills and west of Oo’glog. You can get there using any of the following: Spirit trees The Mobilising Armies Teleport spell in the standard spellbook The Ring of Duelling There are no requirements to start playing, but to keep playing you’ll need tradeable commodities. In other news... We’ve added the ability for you to make notes. To access this new feature, click on the Notes icon at the bottom-right of the screen. This remarkably simple system enables you to leave up to 30 notes for yourself, each of which can be up to 50 characters long. On a related note, any invalid player names saved in your Friends/Ignore lists have been marked with a *. We’ve also moved the Summoning interface’s functionality to the Summoning icon next to the minimap – simply right-click on this icon for all your pet/familiar needs. We’re aware this leaves a blank ‘stone’ on the interface; there is another new feature planned to go in that space. We've added an alternative sitting position when you rest. You can toggle how you sit by clicking rest again to choose your preferred pose. Zanik's crossbow can now be used with many more varieties of bolts. It seems that it only used a small selection beforehand. The filter for the quest list will no longer remove quests you've already started. Summoning scrolls should no longer interfere with special attack energy replenishing. You can no longer use fairy rings while you are tele-blocked. This seemed a bit inconsistent with other areas of the game. You can now take familiars over the bridge towards Zamorak in the God Wars Dungeon, so you don't have to dismiss them and then summon them again after crossing.
  13. 22nd June 2009 - Extended Agility courses If you are serious about Agility, it’s likely you've not been to the Gnome Stronghold or Gunnjorn's barbarian course for some time. This week, that could change, as these Agility trainers have spent long hours constructing new routes around the courses that only the most agile players should attempt. These extended courses will not only give you a chance to show off your most agile moves, but will also reward you with weight-reducing clothing, should you complete enough laps. With the addition of these extended courses, the cave goblins of Dorgesh-Kaan have made some changes to their Agility course, too. They’ve decided to make the course a little less unforgiving, so you should find that you fail less often. The other main change is that the entry requirement for the existing course has been increased from 70 Agility to 80 Agility, while the two extended courses have entry requirements of 85 and 90 Agility, respectively. In other news... We've added a right-click option that will let you quick-start your circus performances, as long as you've been to the circus at least once in the past. We've now added a new song to the Wilderness Volcano area called Eruption. Check it out when you have a chance!
  14. Hello, and welcome back to Pure Warfare. We've just had a massive revamp of the forums, this includes adding new ones, and changing old ones so that they are more appropriate. You may also notice we have our own skin, which you won't find anywhere else, as well as our new banner. More updates will come pretty soon, we're hoping to release our very own SOTW (Sig of the week) as early as we can, but in order to do that we need more graphical geniuses to join. There are also plans to select various moderators over the next few weeks, so be cool, have fun, be mature and obey the rules and who knows; maybe you'll get chosen. As well as moderator ranks we also have other ranks, for example, honoured member, senior member and clan leader. Each have their own private forum so get impressing us. Also, for any of the clans that are here. If you own a clan and you would like to help out, you can start by advertising to your clan members, or even just adding a link to Pure Warfare in your header. It won't take long and it will seriously help. Thanks ~Karl
  15. Sounds good to me, I'll work on it later.
  16. A lot of people use it, pretty sure it's one of the only sites which actually does pay out.
  17. I was banned for botting, yet I didn't even bot :S
  18. 16th June 2009 - Changes to PvP and Bounty Worlds, and gravestones Drop changes This week we have removed the majority of boss- and minigame-only drops from the PvP and Bounty Worlds. Reading the forums, we noted that several people felt that dropping items like dragonfire shields, dragon full helms, Slayer-only items (like the abyssal whip) and barrows equipment was a bad move. The general feeling was that these drops not only made the original source less exciting, but also effectively increased the rate at which these objects came into the game, which had an adverse effect on the economy. We agreed! As such, we have made the following changes: We have replaced many objects on the PvP drop tables with more generic items. We have added “loot drops”, which are objects worth large sums of cash. These objects can be sold to Mandrith in Edgeville or his brother Nastroth in Lumbridge (who only appear in PvP worlds). Due to forum feedback, we have removed all poisoned items from the drop tables. Please note that we have not tried to change the average value of PvP drops – they are intended to be exactly the same as before. Also, it is still possible to get the items we’ve removed from the drop tables if your opponent is carrying them, and the chances of getting these items from your opponent’s inventory are the same as before. Old monsters find new home in old Bounty Hunter crater We’ve been made aware of a few existing monsters in the game that are too few in number, especially in areas busy with eager slayers. We made a list of these critters from the forums, and have added a menagerie of appropriate beasts to the Bounty Hunter crater. The area will now contain hellhounds, lesser demons, greater demons and a range of skeletons. Teleports and switches All teleport spells cast in Bounty Worlds will now take you to Edgeville, and there is a new switch leading to the high-level Wilderness from the ruined building south of the bank in Edgeville. Gravestone changes If you die in a special area (what we call an “instanced” event), you will now be given a gravestone, which will appear in the nearest non-instanced place to the one where you died. For example, if you died while fighting Bork in the Chaos Tunnels, your gravestone would appear outside the portal to Bork’s cave, giving you a chance to return and collect your items. The gravestone will be marked on the world map, and a timer will tell you how much time you have left before it disappears. Logging out will not make the gravestone disappear, although the timer will continue to count down while you are offline. Also, all gravestones will now remain in place for one minute more than they used to. Finally, we just want to let you know that we have added an earning-potential display to PvP and Bounty Worlds interfaces. For more information on this update, visit the Recent Updates thread in the forums. In Other News… The abyssal whip’s special attack now drains 25% of your target’s run energy, rather than 10%. An activity bar, similar to the one recently added to Soul Wars, has been added to the Fishing Trawler minigame. The recently added seaweed nets should now break less often. We've fixed an issue in the Fist of Guthix minigame so that your run energy will now recharge at the rate it is supposed to when standing near the centre. Summoning scrolls have been added to the pre-purchase advice system detailing what you'll need in order to summon the various creatures.
  19. It’s been a while since we updated you on what we are doing to prevent cheating in RuneScape, and particularly to catch and ban macroers, so here’s what’s currently going on: You’ve probably already noticed while playing the game that there has been a lot less macroing going on over the last year, as we’ve been getting more effective at preventing it. Gone are the days where every tree has an accompanying crowd of bots. However, we’re not resting on our laurels, and in fact we have just strengthened our macro-detection systems yet again. We are about to ban several thousand more accounts for macroing. We have reviewed all the macro programs available, and there are none we cannot detect. These days we are taking a zero-tolerance approach to macroing. Players caught for macroing don’t receive a warning, or a chance to appeal, or even a last-chance appeal - they are just permanently banned. Don’t make the mistake of believing that we’ll be soft, and that you can get away with it until you are warned. You can’t. Don’t risk your account. By the time you realize you’ve been caught it will be far too late. Also, high-level and members’ accounts are NOT immune, or given an extra chance. One of the reasons for our RWT changes was precisely so players couldn’t effectively macro on low–level, throwaway accounts to gain wealth. This means they were tempted to macro on their high–level, main accounts instead, which plays straight into our hands as our existing anti-macro systems catch and ban them! This has proven very effective; so far this month we have already banned over 500 high-level accounts with skills in the 80s and 90s. Don’t make your account one of them. This is a warning to players that would have otherwise been sucked in by the misinformation spread by cheating communities; don’t do it, or you will lose your hard-earned account. For further information, please refer to the honour section of the Rules of RuneScape.
  20. 9th June 2009 - Run energy upgrade The run energy upgrade consists of five changes. 1) We have adjusted both the rate at which your energy drains when running AND the rate at which it returns. Overall, these changes mean you will be able to spend a greater proportion of time running than before. 2) You can now sit down and rest anywhere by right-clicking on the run button, which will recharge your run energy (and Hitpoints) much faster (the musicians located at various places around Gielinor provide even faster recharge rates). 3) We have adjusted all energy-restoring potions and food so that they restore more run energy, to make sure they are still useful in light of the above changes. 4) Agility has been made more effective for improving running, as it now reduces your recharge time AND increases the distance you can run per run energy point. Agility levels 50-99 in particular have been made more useful, as previously they offered very little extra running advantage. 5) Agility no longer gives a boost on free worlds, as it was giving members an unfair advantage against free users when PKing or resource gathering on free worlds. Members’ features were always supposed to be turned off on free worlds to avoid spoiling the game for the free players, and indeed most of them were (which is why you can’t use members’ weapons on free worlds, for example), but for some reason we missed the Agility one. Of course, members are welcome to also play on free worlds if they want to, but they shouldn’t expect to have an unfair advantage against free users when playing on a free users’ world. Last but not least, some more player ideas have made their way into the game. You can now weave seaweed nets, and carry much more seaweed than before. There is also a new herb called wergali. Wergali seeds can be obtained from Vinesweeper, your compost mound familiar, or from various monsters’ drops. Perhaps you’d like to use the herb to gain advantages in Fletching and Crafting? Well, now you can, as herbalists have discovered a couple of wergali potions that temporarily boost these skills. Other small changes concern the Strongholds of Security and of Player Safety, where only those in need of information will be quizzed, and the magic spell icons, which have had a graphical update. In other news... Your drop potential in PvP worlds is now more accurately calculated if you've been running in and out of hot and cold zones. We have graphically improved the Bounty Hunter potential bar to represent your earning potential in relation to your target. You can now watch other players in the Games Room. The set effect from Guthan’s armour will no longer heal you if you fail to do any damage, for whatever reason, to the creature you are fighting, for example if you are fighting mutated terrorbirds or tortoises without having first weakened them with a crystal chime. A check has been added to prevent you getting the same Slayer task twice in a row.
