  1. Its difficult for clans to get a foothold when there are these "low level clans" with an average level of 70, and people are scared of challenge. I wouldn't be surprised if more low level clans came along soon, however.
  2. What are you talking about? The best clan in terms of power (Which is what I've been discussing all along, even though some retarded mod keeps deleting posts) is definitely determined by rankings, and how well a clan does in the wilderness, and pulling 30 more than any of the competition and consistently beating every other clan surely cements a clan as the top of the pack regardless for length of time. The overall theme of this topic is the impact certain clans have long term and how they are remembered, not who the best clan ever is. I am not arguing that E is THE BEST CLAN EVER, I am merely saying that like it or not Epidemic WILL be remembered as one of the all time great F2P Clans, alongside Fi, MM, FOE, EOP, Cp. Other than this having nothing at all to do with anything, how is joining a clan 2 months after it opened and being HC a week after that and leader a month after that being part of the "newer E scene"?
  3. Epidemic was THE most consistent clan since we opened near the end of the clan wars era, we were in top level competition (top 5) for in excess of a year without faltering. We dominated every competition we had until we decided to close, and we closed whilst FIRMLY holding the #2 position. Ravage made its mark when comparing it to other low level clans in history.
  4. facepalming the entire topic
  5. It isn't about sugarcoating anything, the week we closed we pulled 80 people to our saturday trip, only a short few weeks previous we peaked at 120 or something and had consistently pulled 80+ at least for about 3 or 4 months. If we had decided we could have easily 'kept it going' and would still be top 3 f2p now without any doubt, we just decided not to for various reasons. Needless to say its either near nor there and is drifting off topic, but saying that Epidemic "couldnt keep going" is ignorant of the circumstances
  6. Its been like that since pretty much the start of pure clans, and rightfully so too. Like you said, it isn't really based on combat levels or stats, and never has been to my knowledge. A perfect example of this is again like the PCL times in 08. Atrocity were a clan with incredibly high averages (As high as Fi/FOE etc as far as I remember) but with a smaller memberlist and horrible activity. Low level clans such as Absolution and Ascendency didn't really have an issue with fighting them, due to the fact they wern't very organised, and the numbers the two clans could pull could make the stats less important and a good fight could happen. As you suggested, the "divisions" that have naturally occured are based around overall clan strength rather than numbers, stats, levels, or anything else. I am actually quite thankful for this, I have led one clan from Low level > Mid level > High level, and another from Low Level > Mid level. The differences in each "division" are huge, in attitude, competition, etc, which is why some people chose to join low level clans, mid level clans, or high level clans. The choice available SHOULD be there, and always will be.
  7. cool goodluck both clans
  8. yeah i agree on an interesting next few months
  9. Haha I was just being annoying and kidding(Although I have learnt to never say never), but fact remains that for a new "era" in low level clanning to occur and actually mean something a visible figurehead clan will need to set the standard for all the other clans to follow, as they have in the past. I personally would love this to happen, because then I could join a clan that I didnt have to put 110% effort into and just enjoy runescape for what its supposed to be ; Fun and competitive. The higher leveled clan world is smashed beyond repair (Probably down in some part to actions I have had says in) and low level clans seem to be blissfully removed from all that sort of drama.
  10. There has only been 3 noteworthy eras of low level clanning that actually amounted to anything. I am not going to describe the days in early 05 where there were low level clans such as Final Ownage and Acid Projekt because they simply have no relevance to this discussion as it was far different back then. The first was when Epidemic had a rivalry with The Dreaded (Undoubtably the most defining low level rivalry in the history of pure clans) in mid 2007, and other clans such as TGG, IR to some degree were also around in that era as "low level" clans or at least low to mid. The clans were pulling 50s with unparalleled organisation and leadership which made it very entertaining and pretty much set the standard for low level clanning in every other "era". The second was the mid PCL time with clans such as Malice, Divinity, Sanctity, Absolution, Ascendency, Fatal Pures, and the various other clans that were around. This is probably the most filled with potential that a low level division has ever been and i personally thought this was one of the most entertaining times in which clans could have a fun filled rivalry safe in the knowledge that it was all for fun. This era was the first time low level clans full outted and pulled huge numbers, If i recall correctly Malice/Divinity each pulled around 80 to there full out after alot of mass recruiting from both clans, and most of the clans pulled at least 40 in there full outs. The third and as I believe it the last "great" era of low level clanning was the end of PCL/Start of PvP era in which clans such as DP, Anonymous Assassins, Epidemic, Divinity, Violent Demise, Malice etc were around. This was the first time that low level clans were really transcending the boundary of divisions and having an impact on the rest of the pure world, with AA having impacts on the fights of MM to varying degrees, Epidemic smashing all competition and becoming #1 Clan in just under a year (Which shows that low level clans arn't pointless). Even when Malice/Divinity/Epidemic etc were truly low leveled in this era they were still pulling 50+'s with amazing organisation. Preps and big minis were commonplace, and overall it was very enjoyable. Now, I really don't think you can argue that any other "era" has had any impact at all in terms of the bigger picture, now the low level clans are pulling 10 - 20 people which is hardly a defining moment when compared to low level clans of the past. There will undoubtably be a new era of low level clanning (most likely when Me, Bob, Jibs, Plode, Ownage Milk and Maras0l open our new low level clan) but it just needs a clan to act like a figurehead and lead the way and set the standard, as clans have done in the past.
