  2. Pretty much agree with this. There's not too much difference between 1 and 10 def. There's a massive gap between 10 & 20 def, then a smaller gap between 20 & 30 (in terms of overall advantage). Then theres another huge jump between 30 and 40. I think if you're 1 or 20def you should be happy knowing your account is better at pking for its combat level than someone who is 30def without turmoil. And as for the 'pures' with 30def and turmoil, they are high combat and get killed by mains during every clan pk trip ;)

    It will definitely protect over dds- I'll get back to you on the top. To be honest it does look like a zuriels staff is a much better option for BH+1. They may drop slightly in price, and realistically you will be much better off with a zuriels staff & claws/AGS than SOL & Dds. You're clearly risking a lot less with the 2nd combination but realistically if you have a SOL in the first place 500k extra risk is the least of your concerns. :\

    New staff is pro :) I believe you hit 1 less than miasmic barrage in all situations (with ice barrage ofc). i.e 34:35 normally, 41:42 with wolpertinger. The special attack is useful for safe pvp I guess, although I can't see it being too useful when solo pking since it takes 100% of the bar. The 'protection'/alch value is somewhere between 36k & 100k (just tested the items on death screen with fire cape & skillcapes)
  5. I really enjoyed the vid- some great hits and good switching. I like how you risk quite a fair amount but none of it is unnecessary or over the top. I would recommend aiming for 92 summoning and trying to pk with a wolpertinger (at around 93 cb?) You seem to like miasmic and youd hit a bunch of 42s with one :) Just a thought!

  7. Looked like a good fight, very different from pure wars it seems. Why were multi spells off? I've heard of miasmic off and corrupt off etc in pure fights but never barrage off. That rule would seem to make an already long fight last a lot longer?
  8. Looked like a good war. To me it looks like E actually did 'better' despite losing. I wouldn't really have expected you to win a single round, but you were clearly very well organised and caught FOE off-guard at the start. Well done :)

  10. Even if your own cb lvls are quite close you still have exactly the same problem when trying to pile the highest/lowest levels of an opposing clan. Under bh isn't a bad area to fight but if it was a pvp world you could attack everyone which would be preferable :)

Yeah was a really fun fight guys, and especially confusing since our hats are the same and some people were having trouble getting in the cc, so it was definitely a good test of coordination (and knowing whos actually in your clan lol) The time it went on for shows how close it was- especially with fast returning from obth sides (I think I agree you had a slight advantage by the time MM found us) Just a suggestion- at 93 combat I spent ages just looking for a pile I could actually attack. It would be nice to fight in PvP or higher up in BH so everyone can attack everyone, rather than quite a split fight between several cb lvl ranges.
  12. I have tried to make my post as structured as I can. In no way have I made excuses for the loss, indicated you should not have won- I mean well done, I'm sure you're pleased. I was merely pointing out 2 issues that concerned me, and all I get is needless attacks? You should know better.
  13. Despite Jagex screwing up a lot of things in RS, some updates do make sense and do work. I don't know what you consider 'recent', but clan wars is almost 2 years old, which seems long enough to be tried and tested to me. In clan wars there in no crashing at all, no random people trying to watch getting in the way, and its much harder to bring non-members without getting caught. Rules are predetermined so there can be no argument. With no risk on death it also doesn't encourage excessive cheating in order to win, and does not separate players who are rich and have money to throw away from those who are cautious of losing lots in PvP (this isn't a major point and I realise it affects both sides but it does get annoying when some players hide at the back) Oh and it is not only difficult to return after dying, it is completely impossible.
  14. Alright I'll keep this as flame free as I can for now. I'm making valid points: Positives: -I love p2p wars and this was reasonably fun even though we lost. We prepped well and almost everyone put in a lot of effort. I felt we were organised during the fight and people were really willing to risk more than usual due to the importance of the event. -Your initial charge was good, and it did give you a good start. Other: -Get your numbers right- We had 67. Not 75. You also have a fall in picture here before the war showing 90 ops. I'm sure this included a few random followers, but it certainly didn't include 10. I don't like how you are trying to imply you won with a difference of 5 people when in fact it was more like 15. We were quite happy to admit after beating Fi a couple of weeks ago that we had significantly more ops. Why are you bigging yourself up by playing with the numbers? If you had accepted in clan wars there would be absolutely no argument on this point. I will say now that I think PvP is a stupid place to have a 'proper' and 'official' fight. Clan wars was designed to host big events like this, and I feel it makes more sense to make use of it. Fighting in PvP also encourages clans to win at any cost in order to save their pixels, because they think they will get away with it- as below. -There is evidence of more than 10 players (probably 15 even) present on your side who have neither apped for DV, nor were they on the memberlist. Clearly you were rather desperate not to lose some precious pixels so you employed the help of a large number of randoms- including players from other clans. I mean come on- you've even admitted it in this topic and told us to ignore it? I personally think it's a very valid point of discussion... The sad thing is, even without these players you would have pulled the same number as us. As a clan you have higher average stats and it would seem that with a war with virtually matched ops you would have the advantage anyway. You didn't really need to cheat in order to win, and this has really dampened the whole outcome IMO. In no way am I insinuating that IR would have won had DV not brought along its friends, but I can't help feeling that by knowingly breaking the rules you have tainted your own victory.
