Since the release of the wilderness, and more specifically free trade. There have been a lot more phishing attempts to try and gain access to your accounts in order to steal your items.

 

I've just received a pretty convincing email which turned out to be a fake. Quite clearly because, 1. I don't have any accounts registered to that email address, and 2. I haven't broken any rules.

If you're still unsure there are some steps you can take to ensure your accounts safety.

• Never login from a link, always go directly to runescape.com
  
• Have a bank pin on your account
  
• Register your email address with your account, you will then be alerted if anyone is trying to recover your account.
  
• Check the SSL certificate
  
• Don't be stupid

The email seems to be going around on mass, I know a few people who have received it. Be careful.

I had that Email too, and it was pretty convincing. I actually logged onto the official Ruenscape homepage and checked through my messages just to make sure lol.
