30 defence vs 40 defence

I have an account I'm wondering whether to go 30 or 40 defence on, and I'm wondering which will be more effective for PKing in all scenarios and have a higher damage:combatlevel ratio.

 

Everybody I've talked to so far is saying that 30 def is more 'pure', but idk, it's only 2 combat levels difference. Can anybody list me the benefits of each option?

Depends if you have another account for pure warring i suppose, addy is still classed as 'pure'

 

But then again if you get 40 def and wait a few months some pure clans will accept rune "pures"

There is simply no competition. 40 def wins hands down. You get access to more strength bonus, far better armour and the one thing addy doesn't get, veng.

 

Also, saying 30 def is more "pure" than 40 def is like saying 80 def is more pure than 70 def, neither are close to the true definition of a pure.

I love being Turm. Zerkers are meh. You do have an advantage esp at edge pking, with veng. But I prefer 30 def :P

Depends. If you quest it all, you'll peak at like 43? def (correct me if I'm wrong) and will have a beast account.

If not quested, stay as low as you can be.

 

But to answer your topic; 40 def wins hands down, only 2 combat level diff.

Rune usualy has the upper hand when pking at higher levels (85-100). But when getting rune too early like 72 cb, your at a disadvantage. :(

45 defense trust me. I've done it all. 30 defense is the worst pking build I've ever had. 45 rapes.

30 defence is for fattys who like to call themselves pures when they're mains.

 

If you're not gonna call you pure with 30+ defence go 40-45, way better.

Only reason to have 30 is to rape pure khunts in mini wars and still be in a pure clan because most still allow 30 defence. Although I think the days of allowing curses/30 defence bonuses in clan wars are past (in terms of minis, etc)?
