Bruins are going to the stanley cup playoffs for the first time in 20 years, same for Vancouver or around there

any predictions? The bruins beat the lightning who beat the number 1 seed and many argued that the lighting would outscore us, but our defense proved to be superior.

I don't think the sedins will be a problem for the bruins since they aren't as fast as stamkos, and we shut him and st louis down pretty easily.

I think the bruins can win the cup in a 4-2 series imo just because of our superior defense and amazing goalie (tim thomas) and our depth is amazing.

Boston doesn't stand a chance against Vancouver. It doesn't even matter if they shut down the Sedins, the Nucks are wayy too deep and skilled, they won't lose this series.

 

I predicted before the preseason that Vancouver would take the cup, I also had a Canucks - Bruins final before the playoffs started. I'm going to be dead right on both predictions.

Well considering how Thomas is a career 3-0 against the Canucks with a ******* 0.33 GAA which is ******* unbelievable. Anyways I think it will come down to depth. And the Canucks have the most of it out of any NHL team. Especially if Malholtra comes back who will mentally boost his team mates and plus he is one of the best PKer's in the NHL and one of the best face-off men. And seeing as how in the Tampa-Boston series the team that won the most percentages of the faceoffs went on to win the game so faceoffs will be huge in this series.

Only thing Bruins have going for them is their goaltending and defence. Compare their forward line to the sedin twins, ryan kesler, burrows, and mason raymond. The best power play stats in the leage through the playoffs and reg season.

 

Plus add on Edler and Ehrhoff, D Men who can score when its important. Add an olympic gold (canadian mothaf***a) goalie who can easily match tim thomas or exceed him when his minds set!

Also goaltending is the most valuable part and tim thomas is on another level right now instead of luongo, he is a head case and the bruins will get to him easily.

I disagree, Tampa doesn't have better offence then the Canucks because they don't have d-men to support and assist their wings. Tampa has 2 amazing players going for them (2 canadians) and thats it. No defence, no team-movement, and sluggish hitting.

 

If you even watched the Western final and compared it to the East, you'd see double the amount of hits. That's what will hurt Boston the most, their a team of aggrivators but in comparison to Vanc they don't even hit =\ Not saying they don't have a chance - but its going to take a miraculous effort. Interesting matchup imo with defence vs offence it seems, I was hoping the bruins would beat tampa cause tampa would have been a boring series.

Vezina trophy goes to the best goalie in the regular season, not the playoffs. Thomas had a .938 sv% and a 2.00 GAA which is amazing. So no doubt the Vezina goes to Timmy.
