New RuneScape Website Feedback

So, as you will all have noticed, the new RuneScape website has been released.

 

What's your opinions on it?

 

Personally, I think it's a lot better than the old one. There are however a few changes I don't like. For example, the Adventurers' Log doesn't show the level in the skill unless you hover over the skill. Also, splitting them in to "Gathering", "Combat", etc, is pretty annoying.

 

But what do you guys think?

Oh, I've also gone from rank 60k, to 44k, woo!

 

I also LOVE the new forums, I may actually start using them. The older ones were massively out-dated and looked horrible. The only issue I have with them is that it no longer says who last replied to a topic.

I like it a lot.

 

It's much more diverse, easier on the eyes, ultimately more appealing to all audiences - hopefully it'll cater to a much larger fan base.

 

The gFx overhaul on the front page itself has a higher stage of artwork presented, I like that. The "mage, warrior, and archer" outlook looks great - specially the fellow with the scar on his face wielding the sword and you can see the reflection of a midst of battle.

 

The red headed mage girl looks pretty... awesome too :>

 

Overall a lot more shiny and up to date - much needed, and much appreciate. It just felt like Jagex was leaving their game to die and moving onto other things... like SD or whatever that project was named... some Transformers stuff... blah blah blah. I'm glad their keeping Runescape competitive.

 

The high-scores itself remain intact for the most part - I really like the part where they have like the top 10 pedestal, and then the top clans right on the bottom.

 

The adventurers log looks literally a thousand times better than the old one, with better animation, better font, and a indictment of which clan the person is in.

 

Particularly the glaring stat tracker right in the middle of a public log, the "defense" really sticks out like a sore thumb. :3

 

The old forums were massively outdated in almost all senses, they literally were not updated ever since early mid RS2. So huge kudos to JaGex for that - the fact that you can't see who "last posted" doesn't bother me as much because the forums are always constantly updated so fast, so it doesn't really bother me to actually not see any names - I was always spam clicking refresh anyways.

 

The new forums do look really good, great artwork, outlook and cute buttons.

I agree, and the game was called MechScape, they abandoned the entire project and started Stellar Dawn from scratch (except for a bit of concept art I believe).

Also, with the addition of the Members only Hiscores, you can now see exactly how many members there are. Just over 556k to be exact. So they're turning over close to £2million a month from RuneScape. Not bad considering they have FunOrb, War of Legends, etc to make more money ;)

 

That's only when they're paying £3.50/month (Credit card), there are thousands that pay more for their membership via text, phone, etc.

i merchant a lot and the grand exchange, on the homepage, looks weird as hell now. The graphs are all minimized and ****. Makes me feel like i'm not gonna make any money :(

The metallic borders ingame are a bit weird... But the dark background behind the font makes it a lot easier to read :o

I think it was a good update, but to me feels like world of warcraft, also looking at the pictures sliding to the side, it didnt seem like runescape at all. They are trying to get this feeling of a adventure when ur playing runescape, there is no adventure, the quests are dull, the begining of the game is boring, and in my eyes there is no story to start the game out to give u that feel of a adventure.

 

You have no idea why ur character was made, and i think if they made a story to start why u were made to fight these creatures we would understand the game more and think of it as a exploring/adventure.

Well, due to a recent discovery, Jagex have an API for the graphs, so I'm going to use that to our advantage and create some detailed graphs for our GE Lookup. So watch out for that.

Think about it tho, that would be great. we could pick wat type of character we want to play.

 

Troll being a tank basicly the troll having high def slow, but hits hard. Elf being fast, dwarf being slow etc etc. And picking these we can unlock certain skills and some cant be used. They could even make special class's for "Pures" and def isnt allowed to be trained.

Old RS was when you actually had to pick classes.
