You'd actually be surprised, they are more accepted now then they use to be. Same with tattoo's and other body piercings.

Heaps of my mates have them done, most are around 10mm, anymore and starts to look a bit weird imo :/

Dont be so narrow minded. It all depends how stretched you get them. If you go over the top, then yes, it looks ugly for most people. However getting a size 0 or something of that sort its fine.

I was thinking of getting small gauges, and Im still thinking about it.

 

I know a lot of people with great jobs despite having pierced ears.
