30 def confusion

Some of you may not understand what I am about to post because most of you are new, but if you've been around since the dawn of pure clans, you will know the truth.

 

Alright guys so I know 30 def topics have been posted over and over, and I just decided to post a topic of my opinion regarding 30 defence/addy in the pure community.

 

Alright so long long ago, 20 defence was looked at as a "main" around the year 2006, at this time so was using overheads in wars. Sounds silly now right? Well back then it was not silly whatsoever. Eventually time went by and things became more competitive. Clan members started to **** up with their whips and gain defence levels, eventually leveling out at around 20 defence ish. Pures also began to get 43 prayer realizing not using overheads was silly.

 

For a long period of time 1-20 defence was considered pure, which eventually branched out into 25 defence being pure.

 

In the same way, the new overheads and new armor has become a new branch in the pure community.

 

For those of you who believe that RUNE will eventually come into the pure world, you are WRONG.

 

Let me show you why.

 

Before the Turmoil Update

 

- Iron/1 Defence - Accepted in the pure community (Considered most pure)

 

- Steel/5 Defence - Accepted in the pure community (mainly consisted of pures who accidently leveled up their defence)

 

- Black/10 Defence - Accepted in the pure community (also consisted of ruined pures who did not mind keeping their defence below 20 defence but also above 1)

 

- mithril/20 Defence - Accepted in the pure community (Lots of pures got this purposely, both for the offensive and defensive bonuses)

 

- Addy/30 Defence - UNKNOWN (this armor was worn back in the old days, but never really accepted or declined, if you know your history you'll know a few leaders who wore this shiny green armor [3 hit u pure, pure b k, etc] However it was never fully accepted as pure and had no reason to be worn)

 

- Rune/40 Defence - NOT accepted in the pure community (this is the line between pure and not pure, pures understand that once getting 40+ defence they are now a Rune pure and thus not in the pure community)

 

Barrows, etc etc you know the deal.

 

 

In conclusion, Addy was never considered to be pure or not pure until now, because now we have a reason to use addy/the new prayers, as we did back in the day when regular overheads and mith were accepted.

 

If you're not stupid, you'll understand that there is a line between pure and not pure, and that many of these addy pure clans WILL NOT cross it.

Exactly, rune is not far from being "pure" the way this community is headed thus your argument that rune will not be accepted is irrelevant.

Exactly, rune is not far from being pure the way this community is heading.

You'll never see "mains" or "rune pures" wearing addy, thus it shouldn't be considered a main or rune pure armor. People know the line, and to becoming a main and remaining in the pure community. I'm 100% sure this line won't be crossed. A 1-40 defence clan will not be successful due to the lack of competition. All the 1-30 def people would suck in the wars while the 40 def will live, thus forcing everyone to get rune and thus not a pure clan any longer.

40 defence will never be pure, just like 30 defence isn't now. But that's not going to stop clans from accepting it. You're a fool if you accept 35 defence but draw the line 5 levels before you actually start to get good advantages from defence (compared to other people your combat).

 

You treat the clans that use this site like they represent a "pure community," and they haven't done that for years now.
