Knicks Sign Smith, Waive Balkman

The Knicks officially signed J.R. Smith on Friday.

 

Smith agreed to join the Knicks over the Clippers, who couldn't offer him as much money.

 

New York waived Renaldo Balkman to create a roster spot for Smith.

I personally dont know how this would work. It might be a great deal for the Knicks, J.R was averaging 35points in China but Amare, Melo and Smith are scorers and usually demand/hold the ball.

Thoughts/Opinions? I though J.R would go to L.A Clippers were there was a bigger role for him but I heard it was about money issues or something.
