X + (defence level) + 2 = Combat level

 

X= highest of the following, Attack, Strength, Range, Magic.

note: Hitpoints, Summoning and Prayer will have 0 effect on your combat level

 

EG:

An account with:

99 Attack

99 Strength

35 Defence

99 Range

99 Prayer

99 Mage

99 Summoning

99 Hitpoints

 

99 + 35 + 2 = 136 Cmb

 

 

 

EG2:

An account with:

99 Attack

99 Strength

01 Defence

99 Range

52 Prayer

99 Mage

01 Summoning

99 Hitpoints

 

99 + 1 + 2 = 102 Cmb

 

 

you mains with 35 defense will be 34 cb levels higher in the new system.

 

there is no justification for such a high combat level in the new system.

 

i demand all pure clans revert to one defence.

Non issue. you don't even know what those numbers mean or how defence is going to play a role in the new system.

 

Given that the new combat system is based on your damage potential, it appears that defence, in that equation, does have a pivotal role as it is weighted strongly, even higher than str and attack combined.

Maybe they realised they would loose a MASSIVE fan base if they changed it so much.

 

Pures must make up about 40% of the community, you can see that now from the new BH.

 

Maybe this will be more PvM based than anything.

Or it might be good because everyone your level will have roughly the same stats and with the new combat system 1 def will have a greater advantage than someone with 35 unlike today.

 

Just it seems that defence looks too important to not have it. Then again we are all just theorycrafting.

They still haven't revealed much information about how defence will come into account so don't get too excited

If I did this right, a maxed 1 def pure will only have to fight a 30 def turmoil with 70 str
