How much $$$ Jagex will lose from the combat update.

According to a 7 Day Average I calculated for this week, 145, 695, and Mod Mark's 'statistic' that 2% of Runescape's players(not necessarily accounts) [ 2% of 145 695 = 2 913.9 ], 2,914~ X 5.95 Credit Card Membership subscribtion/ month, Jagex will lose~ 17,338$ USD, assuming all pures unsubscribe and have previously payed with a credit card.

 

The yearly loss if these Pures stay unsubscribed will be ~208,059.USD

 

These are rough estimates and there are probably far more than less than 2% of Pures in the game, depending on Mod Mark's vague definition of pure, [1 Def, 1-39 Def, Etc.] It is also unclear whether or not MMG's statistic was based on the total accounts in the game since 2001 (195Mill).

 

This is probably the minimum calculated that they will lose but it is probably bigger than that.

I really don't like all this negativity, I think the combat beta is definitely JaGex needed to do - because as of thus, the game is stale, there's no new influx of new players, there's no longevity.

 

The game needed a refreshing change - it needed a different vibe. Gamers of this generation are looking for that "more complex" and "more interactive" battle system.

 

OT: I don't think JaGex will lose that much money in the overhaul. Atm PvM is okay on a Pure, but PvP is a bit stupid with all this one shotting.

 

I do sincerely hope they will make tweaks to at least give the Pure community a reason to stay.

Now im not going to unsubscribe until its actually put into the game which is around September.

 

Im going to see how it is when it officially comes out, as of now its laggy, ****** and bad. Hopefully they fix **** or decide not to put it into the game.

 

The video on it has over 750 dislikes already and only like 300 likes. That alone should shoe jagex wat we want.

I disagree in that I think the Veterans were the foundation of the game. They knew all the mechanics and what to do and were there for new players that needed guidance. They were also the most experience in account builds, questing, etc. A new player today will have a harder time getting used to what an older player had to go through.

 

And that is the absolute minimum they will lose assuming 2% of the pures from a 1 week average player perspective unsubscribe. You're probably right about the loss, but only time will tell how much. I unsubscribed in March, so.

I'm not understating the value of the community foundation.

 

I'm simply saying that the game has no new blood, hence no longevity, or generation of interest.

Because something that generic and overused is successful. If you're making money off a business (hey isn't that generic and overly run too?) then why not.
