Too much negative space. No flow, and no good colors. Try adding some effects. The smudging is okay, keep working

Looks decent; you should fill up some of the free space though (my opinion). the contrast works well. Not sure if it's the render or something you did but his forehead looks a little 2-D.

 

Not meaning to be offensive but is it simply multiple layers of the render with smudging and a black border?

edit: some blur (not sure of effect name, basically making the 'circles') on the smudged layers also, perhaps.
