Death of the melee pure

With this new auto cast update combined with +1 pking, does anyone think the days of the dscim/dds melee pure are over? Back in 06/07 all you would see was the odd range/mauler and every other pure was melee based. I even remember oldschool pkri's when people would use dscim/dds/smite like main p2p multi fights.

 

Do you guys think these days are over? Did you guys prefer this style of warring compared to the boring auto casting from the back of the map style that we do now?

If you farcast a straight melee-er he'll always run (and assuming he's not using salmon he'll succeed), so it's become common knowledge to give melee-ers some breathing space.

 

I can definitely see your point of view in clan warring though, but it never was really any different.

From the one vs. one aspect, like Nicholas said, you are either going to hybird+, or you're going to straight melee (possibly straight range). But no one is going to straight mage anyone in one vs. one. Good thought though. Not sure how it is in bigger multi-fights.

Always loved a traditional 60 attack melee pure back in the day, even those that do have 60 attack and high strength now tend to just range - dds.

I liked the original 20 defense initiate pure with high attack + strength with low range and magic.
