I think its a great step forward for America. Anyone who says Barack Obama hasnt done anything obviously doesnt pay attention to their own countries political affairs. As a canadian living with free healthcare, I'd say its great news.

This is single handily the worst thing ever. Taxes are going up, I have to pay for other peoples healthcare, if I earn something why do I have to spend it on someone else? Create jobs...right...thats why people in the insurance industry are going to be laid off....This only proves how arrogant and selfish Washington DC is. I hope **** goes A-Wall really. To show that this should not have been passed.

I couldn't help but sit there in disgust to see that some people were against it, and I think many people in countries with a government run health care system felt the same. Welcome to 2010 America. And spending money on war...hm...I bet you are one to think we are there for oil aren't you...come on tell me. And money on space...its about learning where we are and how we can use other resources, you do know that because of our "space" programs we can use satellites which help (war, weather, technology to name a few) We have discovered possible water trenches on Mars, meaning life may have been sustainable at one point. You seem to lack the knowledge on how these things you find as wastes are helping you on a daily basis. Once again your socialism is killing me, I am literally laugh with my friend at your comment...

And I'm sure that space technology is highly useful, but I'm sure they spend lotsa money on the space program that is not important for right now. So what if it increases families' health care costs? If you look at this from what people dont have whether then what you do have it benefits the overall population. I live in a low income family, none of us have health care and is it really our fault? Families like mine can't afford college tuition and the price of books so we generally live on a lower income and cant afford health care. The people who CAN afford it take maybe 10 dollars out of their paycheck a month to give people who are less fortunate the benefit of being secure with medical needs. People nowadays are to greedy and inconsiderate they complain about any dent to their wallets but dont look at the humane side of the argument.

This bill is only going to effect those who make over 250,000 a year. Don't worry I am pretty sure everyone here doesn't make that much lol.

My parents together make just under $75,000 a year, are making less than last year due to the economy and had to pay about $1,200 more in taxes since Obama and his posse have rolled into D.C.. Besides, do you know who does make over $250,000 per year? People who own businesses who employ everyone else. If they're making less money do you really think that the logical conclusion is that they're going to be hiring more people?

 

It's irrelevant anyway. This bill is going to be thrown out. There are already lawsuits being filed over it saying that it's unconstitutional. You can read one of the arguments for this HERE. The Democrats are also going to lose horribly in November because most of the effects of this healthcare bill do not go into effect for several years, while the taxes will start immediately.

 

Also, there are 38 states currently drafting legislation to amend their state constitutions to make it illegal for the government to force someone to purchase or participate in a healthcare plan. You do realize that with this bill if you don't have health insurance that you're going to be fined by the federal government? Absolutely ridiculous.

 

People nowadays are to greedy and inconsiderate they complain about any dent to their wallets but dont look at the humane side of the argument.

So answer this for me: is taking something from someone and giving it to someone else who you deem more deserving stealing? Does the fact that you think you're doing something you consider morally right justify threatening to put someone in jail if they don't comply with your demands?
