10 def you can have Max binding gear for f2p and still keep a mid combat.

I am personally 1 Def, but I like 20 for the fact you are still pure with better equipments but it is only good if you have higher combat stats.

1 defence is the original, back even in 07 20 def pures were rare, but soon after, they would spread, as all we had was Clan Wars and BH...most Pures died with the wild, tbh, or put on that mithril.

20 def fights mains/tanks/rne pures and never can pk in edgy without getting raped. KNOWN FACT

init pures are useless unless all you do is brid. which is a cash drain anyhow.

1 deff fights only pures failed tanks/rune pures wins and are overpowered for their levels.

I have the most fun on my 1 def pure [2 def] and I regret ever getting def on my now maxed main [ex maxed init pure]who I wish I kept 20 so I'd go turmoil. 20 def is now useless for edgy 1 v 1 pking, I can't stress enough that a slayer helm a defender and black armour or mystic fender init is not worth the 5-9 combat levels.

Tbh, I like the look of 20 Defence for both multi and solo.

I think it just looks overly nicer. ;S

20 def is pretty ****** unless you can afford to use corrupts all the time. Take it from me. I hated it

10 def is stupid, you get 10 defence and you still pk in ghostly and gain very little advantages/new bonus. The way i see it is 1 defence for pking and 20 defence for clan purposes.

ive noticed alot of people starting to stay at 10 def, i think this is pointless, 10 def does **** all tbh.

 

1 def is awesome for solo pking, them few levels lower sure do make a difference, but if it comes to alot of clan fighting, "minis, preps, trips" 20 def is the thing for you.

 

Personally i wouldnt get 20 def before achieving a 90 stat and a 80+ stat secondary, such as range and str.

And 1 def is obviously best, I had 10 when I played, had 1 until like lvl65+, and 1 def is best, only reason I got 10 was because I got 2 by mistake, and was like f it and tried out 10 def.. If you get 20 def, imo your not really a pure.. And if you have over 20 def, don't even think about considering yourself a pure.
