Anyone know what to do?

 

About a year ago on my HP computer, one day it just stopped working. I got a screen when I turned the computer on that told me there was a boot failure and I had to insert my system disk. I have no disks or floppys plugged in the computer. I do not have the system disk. I'd prefer to keep all the stuff on the computer, although I have tried wiping its memory but I can access that page on Start-up. The F hot key wont work.

 

anyone have this problem or any suggestions?

Either Windows is corrupt and/or your hard drive is knackered.

 

Borrow a Windows disc (of what you currently have on there) and try reinstall it, if it doesn't work it's probably your hard drive (or another bit of hardware that's ******).

 

If you want to save your crap but can't get into Windows, take the hard drive out, plug it into another PC and see if you can copy the data of that way, otherwise, learn to back up and get over it.

Yeah it's a disk boot failure.

 

And I don't have any disks for my computer, my dad took them all with him when he moved out. All I have is a monitor disk.

If you have one of them friend things, not sure where you get them, borrow theirs.

Yeah ask around to see if your friends have one, and if not go to ebay.
