N64 On Your Computer

I'm going to tell you guys how to play N64 games on your computer.

 

First, you'll need an emulator. I use Project64: http://emulator-zone.com/doc.php/n64/project64.html . An emulator is basically the system you are going to use but a computer version of it.

 

Download Project64 and get it up and running like any other program.

 

Next create a new folder called N64 Games in your documents. This is optional but I suggest doing it for easy game downloads.

 

The games you're going to be playing are called "roms." You just download it and extract it to your N64 Games folder that we created earlier. I personally just Google what I want and then find a site I've used before. I suggest Http://doperoms.com.

 

Once downloaded and in the N64 Games folder go to your Project64 and click File > Open Rom. You'll then be given the chance to browse through your files and find the game you want to open. If you've saved everything in a N64 Games folder these will be easy for you to find.

 

 

Open the game and start playing.

 

 

 

Tips:

 

System > Save will save your game with no confirmation.

System > Restore will open the game you saved with no confirmation.

System > Cheats will display all available cheat codes for the game

 

Options > Configure Controller Plugin... is highly suggested. You'll want to see what keys you actually need for each game and then change the controls to fit your needs. Controls are the only downside of using this system but can be worked with to get around things.

Lol, what a coincedence, I just started Ocarina of Time Master Quest yesterday.

I started playing Majouras mask a few days ago, I have a N64 to USB converter, so I can plug a real N64 pad to my computer and use it with the emulator :O it's like being 10 again.
